The Cass County Performing Arts Council, Inc. (CPAC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the fine arts and quality live entertainment to Cass County venues in various cities. CPAC receives funding from the Texas Commission on the Arts and from the generous donations of members.

Sa Chen - Pianist Sat. October 6, 2007 Nelson Murphy Auditorium, Linden 7:30 pm

2005 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition Crystal Award Winner

As a teenager, Ms. Chen was named first prize winner of the 1994 China International Piano Competition. Winning fourth prize in the Leeds International Piano in 1996, she was the youngest contestant in the competition. As a top prize winner of the 2000 Chopin Competition, Ms Chen quickly became known to audiences throughout Europe and Asia.

Acoustic Eidolon - Guitjo and Cello Sat. November 10, 2007 Morris Upchurch Middle School, Queen City 7:30 pm

Joe Scott and Hannah Alkire have combined their musical talents to create an exciting new acoustic instrumental sound. Joe plays an instrument he invented, the guitjo, a custom acoustic guitar with two necks, built exclusively for him. This one-of-a-kind instrument may sound at times like a piano, dulcimer or beautiful harp. Combine the unique sound with Hannah's stunning tone and impeccable cello-playing and you will see why they have been asked to return. Don't miss the opportunity to experience this amazing duo.

Dan Gibson - Storyteller and Banjo Player Sat. January 26, 2008 Music City Texas, Linden 7:30 pm

Stories and Music that provoke thought and laughter. Stories designed to illuminate Texas history. Stories that stir the imagination. Don't miss this evening of fun, music and lots of laughs. "Dan Gibson's easy going delivery leads the listener into a land where truth becomes relative. Suspending belief, the audience follows Dan down paths that yield laughter and delight."

Joe Libby - Dinner Theatre with Magic & Fun Sat. March 8, 2008 Mattie Lanier Richey Center, Atlanta 7:30 pm

Joe Libby is a Certified Magic Professional. With only 40 magicians worldwide holding this coveted designation, the evening will be one you won't forget. Joe's client list includes DuPont, USAA, Catholic Life Insurance and Wal-Mart just to name a few. The comedy magic, mind reading, ventriloquism and Joe's handwriting analysis abilities have been entertaining people for over fifteen years.

The Lyric Duo - Lyric Soprano and Pianist Sat. April 12, 2008 Nelson Murphy Auditorium, Linden 7:30 pm

The Lyric Duo has received great acclaim for its concert appearances in the United States and in China. An energetic husband and wife team who began their musical collaboration in 1995 at the University of Southern California, lyric soprano Eva Peng and pianist Anthony Olson offer unique concert programs that explore a wide variety of songs, arias, chamber music and solo piano works. In addition to their unique concert programs, Eva and Anthony are deeply committed to the education of young audiences and performers.
