Big Kick Earns Big Bucks

Rodney Keith (K. T.) Thomas added extra excitement during half-time at the Atlanta Rabbit’s Homecoming football game October 22nd. Wearing his lucky Dallas Cowboys shirt and 10-year old Nikes, K. T. kicked a 40 yard field goal to win $10,000 in the first SmithTex Kick To Win contest. “I was a little nervous when I got to the field,” stated Thomas after his name was drawn for the chance to kick from the 30 yard line. The last time that Thomas played football was for Atlanta High School where he graduated in 1982. With Rabbit fans cheering, Thomas positioned the football on a chunk of turf, lined up and let it rip. Watching the football clear the goal posts were Thomas’s wife, Michelle and his children, Cody, 10, and Keandrs, 7. Stuart Smith of SmithTex said the feat “was awesome” and that he and SmithTex hope to host the contest again.
