Public Safety Appreciation Day
9/8/2006
When did you last take the time to voice a heartfelt "Thank you" to the special folks who risk life and limb daily to protect you and your loved ones? On Saturday, September 9, 2006 from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., join Cass County residents for Public Safety Appreciation Day in downtown Atlanta.
Twenty-six Cass County public service entities have been invited to have fire trucks, ambulances, police cars and other various safety vehicles on display along Hiram and East Streets. Children, regardless of age, can have pictures made with a favorite local hero along side the displays.
The event, the first Appreciation Day of its kind, will be filled with entertainment provided by talented area musicians. Fire department members and students will provide food and beverages from concession stands.
Kicking off the event will be city, county and state officials including Mayor Keith Crow, Judge Charles McMichael and Representative Stephen Frost. Following official remarks, the public is invited to visit the hundreds of public safety personnel who make like safer in Cass County. And don't forget to say--THANK YOU!
