Library Offers Books and More
2/1/2007
The Atlanta Public Library is more than shelves filled with the latest best sellers. Jackie Icenhower recently reminded patrons of the many and varied services available at the compact brick building on West Hiram Street.
Tax assistance for senior citizens is offered by AARP every Friday beginning at 10:00 AM. During tax season, visit with a volunteer advisor until 2 PM.
Bridge has been added to the activities happening at Family Game Night every Monday evening. Call the library for more information on lessons.
Don't forget to show support for the community grant for the library. Jackie invites all patrons to view her request at www.myhometownhelper.com and click on "Find a Project" then follow the directions.
And, saving the best for last--Friends of the Library are hosting a Sweethearts Bake Sale on February 13th and 14th. While picking up books or movies at the Library, choose a delicious treat to take home or give to a secret Valentine. Place special orders by calling Patsy Livingston or e-mailing your request to forpine@attglobal.net .
