Atlanta is the largest town in Cass County that has retained its unique history and small town charm of days
gone by, while moving forward as a growing community well suited for today’s changing times and retiree needs.
Atlanta has its own hospital and clinical district along with assistant living and senior care providers. Other
attributes are local events, civic and service originations, varied church denominations, and affordable
living. Atlanta has invested in their downtown district to maintain its heritage and small town culture. It is
like going back in time walking on the brick paver sidewalks and shopping in the different variety of shop and
eating in our different cultured restaurants. Relax with the many lakes that provide numerous outdoor activities
from fishing, camping, and hunting to bird watching.
Atlanta is located only 20 miles from Texarkana, 55 miles to Shreveport Louisiana, and only a two and half hour drive to the Dallas area.
Atlanta is only 1 of the 40 Certified Retirement Communities in Texas. The program is sponsored through
the Texas Department of Agriculture. To qualify for the distinction, communities must undergo a rigorous application
process based upon a myriad of desirability assessments geared to retiree needs and desires. Atlanta is proud to
not only meet, but exceed all of the requirements.
